KCC installs pre-formed grout bags to fill scour voids and reinstate seawall toe structures. Grout bags are placed by divers and pumped with cementitious grout to fill voids and provide a stable foundation for the seawall toe. This method is widely used by CEDD and DSD for seawall maintenance works.
Scour voids beneath seawall toe structures remove the foundation support for the seawall face — and if left unaddressed, can lead to progressive settlement and structural failure. Grout bag installation is a proven, cost-effective method for reinstating toe structures and preventing further deterioration.
Rock Armour Placement
Underwater placement of rock armour and armour stone to protect seawall toes and coastal structures.
Concrete Block Revetment
Installation and reinstatement of concrete block revetment systems on seawall faces.
Scour Monitoring
Periodic survey and monitoring of scour development at bridge piers, piles, and marine structures.
