Anti-Fouling Inspection — Assessing Coating Condition After Cleaning

What is Anti-Fouling Paint Inspection?

KCC carries out post-clean inspection of anti-fouling paint systems to identify areas of coating breakdown, bare metal exposure, and mechanical damage. Results are used to plan touch-up works and inform the next dry-docking programme.

What's Included

  • Close-visual inspection of anti-fouling coating following hull cleaning
  • Identification and mapping of coating breakdown areas
  • Assessment of remaining coating thickness and condition
  • Identification of bare metal areas requiring touch-up
  • Condition report with recommendations for maintenance

Why This Matters

Anti-fouling coating breakdown allows rapid re-fouling and exposes the steel hull to corrosion. Post-clean inspection identifies areas requiring touch-up — allowing targeted maintenance to be carried out before the situation deteriorates.
