KCC carries out underwater placement and positioning of artificial reef units, concrete structures, and purpose-built habitat modules to enhance marine biodiversity. Works are carried out from barge using crane placement with diver guidance and positioning.
Artificial reefs provide new habitat for marine species and can significantly enhance biodiversity in areas where natural reef habitat is limited. KCC's installation capability ensures units are correctly placed and stable — providing the habitat function they are designed to deliver.
Reef Colonisation Monitoring
Periodic diver surveys of artificial reef structures to document species colonisation over time.
Reef Condition Assessment
Structural inspection of artificial reef units to assess stability and physical condition.
Biodiversity Baseline Survey
Pre-installation baseline survey of existing marine habitats and species assemblages.
