Coral Transplantation — Supporting Reef Restoration Programmes

What We Do: Coral Transplantation Support

KCC provides diver support for coral transplantation programmes — including collection of coral fragments from donor sites, transport, and placement on designated receptor sites. Works are carried out in close coordination with marine ecologists and environmental consultants.

What We Do

  • Diver collection of coral fragments from designated donor sites
  • Transport of coral fragments to receptor site
  • Placement and securing of coral fragments on receptor site
  • Post-transplantation monitoring to assess survival rates
  • Documentation of transplantation works

Why It Matters

Coral transplantation programmes allow coral communities to be relocated away from construction impacts and established on new receptor sites — mitigating the impact of marine construction on coral habitats.
