KCC provides structural repair and refurbishment services for existing jetties, piers, and pontoon structures across Hong Kong. Works range from minor concrete spalling repairs and cathodic protection upgrades through to major structural strengthening, pile replacement support, and full deck refurbishment.
Below-waterline works are carried out by KCC's commercial divers and include: concrete repair by tremie, formwork, or hand-placed methods; pile jacketing and encapsulation; anode replacement; fender re-fixing; and structural inspection to confirm the extent of deterioration. Above-waterline works include deck concrete repairs, expansion joint replacement, handrail and ladder replacement, and anti-corrosion coating application.
Compliance: All works are carried out to the Engineer's specification and in accordance with BS 6349 (Maritime Structures) and relevant Hong Kong Government works bureau technical circulars. Diving operations comply with IMCA D 045 and HSE Diving at Work Regulations 1997.
Jetties and piers deteriorate rapidly in Hong Kong's warm, saline, and biologically active waters. Early intervention — combining above and below-waterline repair in a single mobilisation — is significantly more cost-effective than allowing deterioration to reach structural failure.
Fender Installation
Supply and installation of rubber, EVA, pneumatic, and foam-filled fenders on jetties, piers, dolphins, and floating pontoons — protecting vessels and structures from berthing impact.
Floating Pontoon & Gangway Installation
Design, supply, and installation of HDPE and aluminium floating pontoons with gangways for marinas, yacht clubs, public piers, and private premises.
Marine Piling Support
Diver-assisted piling support — seabed preparation, pile guidance, toe inspection, and as-built survey — in support of piling contractors working in the marine environment.
