Reinforced Concrete Infill for Hollow Pile Strengthening and Repair

What is Concrete Infill with Rebar Cage?

Installation of a prefabricated rebar cage inside hollow steel or concrete piles, followed by tremie concrete placement — restoring structural capacity and providing long-term corrosion protection from the inside out.

What's Included

  • Internal pile survey — CCTV, caliper, or diver inspection
  • Rebar cage design and fabrication to pile bore dimensions
  • Cage lowering and positioning under SSBA
  • Tremie concrete placement — self-compacting, low-bleed mix
  • Concrete level monitoring and top-up as required
  • Post-placement inspection and core sampling (where specified)
  • Structural engineer sign-off and photographic record

Why This Matters

Concrete infill converts a hollow, potentially compromised pile into a solid composite section — dramatically increasing load capacity and eliminating the risk of progressive internal corrosion. It is particularly effective for ageing jetty and wharf piles where replacement would require extended operational shutdown.
