ICCP Reference Electrode Survey — Verifying System Control

What is ICCP Reference Electrode Survey?

KCC carries out underwater inspection and testing of impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system reference electrodes and hull fittings to verify that the control system is receiving accurate potential readings and operating correctly.

What's Included

  • Diver inspection of reference electrode condition and mounting
  • Testing of reference electrode output against calibrated portable electrode
  • Inspection of ICCP anode condition and mounting
  • Inspection of cable connections and hull fittings for damage or corrosion
  • Reporting of findings with recommendations for maintenance or replacement

Why This Matters

An ICCP system that is receiving incorrect readings from a faulty reference electrode may be under-protecting or over-protecting the structure — both of which cause problems. Regular reference electrode surveys ensure the system is operating on accurate data.
